Theories and practices using the location portrait as a powerful editorial tool in v isual reportage. Emphasis will be on subject relationships, location lighting setups, design, critical lens choice, and color utilization to create an accurate interpretation of the subject. The use of small portable strobes will be used in concert with creative exposure techniques to place you in total control.
Activities include: demonstrations, audio/video and Internet presentations, digital camera portrait projects, sharing of photography projects, desktop printing, Internet research, exams, and discussing a variety of professional photographers images.
Students must be able to arrange 3 hours of time per week for outside of class work. This course may be used as an elective for the Commercial Photography Degree or Certificate.
